Abstract: Objective To understand the the current situation of future self continuity and healthy behavior among college students, and analyze the correlation and impact between them. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 931 undergraduate students from three universities in Beijing from June to July 2022 using cluster random sampling method. Linear correlation, linear regression, and other methods were used to analyze the correlation between future self-continuity and health behavior among college students,as well as the impact of future self-continuity on health behavior. Results The future self continuity score of 1 013 college students participating in the survey was (4.44±1.59)points,and the score of the health promotion lifestyle scale was(132.07±23.69)points. There were statistically significant differences in the scores of health promotion lifestyle among college students of different genders, grades, and student sources(all P<0.05).The future self continuity of college students was positively correlated with the health promoting lifestyle(r=0.074,P<0.05),and the future self continuity score could positively predict the health promoting lifestyle(B=1.109,t=2.274,P<0.05). Conclusions The overall level of future self-continuity among college students was relatively high, while the overall situation of healthy behavior was average. The future self-continuity of college students was closely related to healthy behavior, and improving their future self-continuity can help promote the improvement of their healthy behavior.
