Research progress on difficulties in regulating positive emotions

Abstract: Emotion regulation is an important psychological response for individuals to cope with environmental changes. Individuals may develop a series of clinical disorders due to emotion dysregulation. Previous studies on emotion dysregulation have focused more on negative emotions,and the regulation of negative emotions has become a major direction of clinical treatment. Currently,foreign studies have found that positive emotion dysregulation are closely related to a variety of health risk behaviors and psychiatric disorders. Therefore,this article aims to review the current research status and characteristics of positive emotion dysregulation abroad,which can help researchers in China to carry out research in this field,introduce measurement tools to assess positive emotion dysregulation,identify people with potential difficulties in regulating positive emotions,and develop individual positive emotion dysregulation into intervention and early identification methods for certain psychiatric disorders.
