Mediating role of occupational cognitive adjustment of nephrology nurses in northeast Sichuan between perceived leadership care and professional active behavior

Abstract: Objective To investigate the status quo of occupational cognitive adjustment,perceived leadership care and professional active behavior of nephrology nurses,and to explore the mediating effect of occupational cognitive adjustment on perceived leadership care and professional active behavior of nephrology nurses,so as to provide reference for improving their professional active behavior. Methods In November 2023,322 nephrology nurses from 10 general hospitals in northeast Sichuan were selected as research objects. General information questionnaire,perceived leadership care scale,professional cognitive adjustment scale and professional active behavior scale were used to investigate. Mplus7.0 was used to construct and verify the mediation model. Results The score of perceived leadership care of nephrology nurses in northeast Sichuan was (133.71±15.83)points,the occupational cognitive adjustment score was (58.41±10.59)points,the professional active behavior score was (51.27±5.12)points. There were positive correlation among perceived leadership care,occupational cognitive adjustment and occupational active behavior(all P<0.05). Occupational cognitive adjustment played a mediating role between nurses' perception of leadership care and occupational active behavior,with the mediating effect value being 0.062,accounting for 27.2% of the total effect. Conclusion The professional active behavior of nurses in the nephrology department in northeast Sichuan is at a moderate to high level. Perceived leadership care could not only directly affect the professional active behavior of nurses,but also indirectly affect the professional active behavior through professional cognitive adjustment.
