Abstract: Objective To investigate the status of uncivilized behavior in the workplace, psychological resilience, and occupational burnout among emergency department nurses, and to explore the impact of uncivilized behavior in the workplace and psychological resilience on occupational burnout. Methods From April to May 2024,a convenience sampling method was used to survey 185 emergency department nurses from 6 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Yancheng City using the workplace uncivilized behavior scale, psychological resilience scale, and occupational burnout scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The score for uncivilized behavior in the workplace of emergency department nurses was(95.47±11.64)points,psychological resilience was(87.28±12.74)points and occupational burnout was(63.78±13.46)points. Univariate analysis showed that age, years of work experience, professional title, monthly income, and night shift work were the influencing factors of occupational burnout among emergency department nurses(all P<0.05). The workplace uncivilized behavior of emergency department nurses was positively correlated with occupational burnout(r=0.618,P<0.01),while psychological resilience was negatively correlated with occupational burnout(r=-0.486,P<0.01). The workplace uncivilized behavior was negatively correlated with psychological resilience(r= -0.544,P<0.01). The psychological resilience of emergency department nurses partially mediated the relationship between workplace uncivilized behavior and occupational burnout, with a mediation effect of 0.259,accounting for 42.18% of the total effect. Conclusion Emergency department nurses have a high level of uncivilized behavior in the workplace and occupational burnout. Psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between uncivilized behavior in the workplace and occupational burnout. Improving psychological resilience is beneficial for alleviating the impact of uncivilized behavior in the workplace on occupational burnout.
