Abstract: Objective To explore the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of inhalable particle(PM10),fine particle(PM2.5),NO2,SO2,CO and O3 in Gansu Province from 2016 to 2023,in order to provide strong support and scientific basis for the prevention and control of atmospheric pollution in Gansu Province. Methods Based on data from National Environmental Monitoring Sites in Gansu Province from 2016 to 2023,the spatial and temporal variation characteristics and correlation of 6 major pollutants were analyzed. Results The distribution of different pollutant concentrations showed spatial differences, and the concentrations of PM10,PM2.5 and O3 were higher in Hexi than in Hedong, while the concentrations of SO2,NO2 and CO were the opposite. The average annual concentrations of PM10,PM2.5,SO2,NO2 and CO in Gansu Province from 2016 to 2023 showed a downward trend, with declines of 3.27%,16.36%,48.14%,19.75% and 41.57%,respectively. In contrast, the average annual concentration of O3 increased by 7.97%. The monthly average concentrations of PM10,PM2.5,SO2,NO2 and CO were in the form of “U”,with higher concentrations in autumn and winter and lower concentrations in spring and summer. The monthly average concentration of O3 presented an inverted “U” distribution, with higher concentrations in summer than in winter. The daily concentrations of PM10,PM2.5,SO2,NO2 and CO presented double peaks and double valleys distribution, with the highest concentration of O3 occurring at 16:00 and the lowest concentration occurring at 08:00. Conclusion Except O3,the overall concentration of air pollution in Gansu Province has shown a positive trend from 2016 to 2023. In the future,Gansu Province should focus on O3 pollution and continue to strengthen air pollution prevention and control measures to continuously optimize and improve air quality.
