Abstract: Objective To understand the liver function abnormalities and risk factors of chemical and ethylene operation employees in a petrochemical enterprise in Lanzhou, and provide theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of liver function abnormalities. Methods Totally 1 244 chemical and ethylene operation employees from a petrochemical enterprise in Lanzhou were selected as the research subjects, and their health examination information from January to October 2023 at the health management center of Lanzhou Petrochemical General Hospital was collected. Create data on alanine aminotransferase(ALT),total bilirubin(TBIL),γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(GGT),uric acid(UA),and triglycerides(TG) in an Excel 2018 spreadsheet. Based on the patient's liver function, divide the patients into two groups:normal liver function group and abnormal liver function group. Analyze the data using a logistic regression model. Results Among 1 244 study subjects,249 cases were detected for abnormal liver function, with a detection rate of 20.02%. There were statistically significant differences in the abnormal rates of liver function among employees with different years of exposure, body mass index(BMI),alcohol consumption, fatty liver, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, job type, and age(all P<0.05). The results of multivariate analysis showed that years of exposure to occupational hazards,BMI,alcohol consumption, fatty liver, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, exposure to ethylene, olefins, and methyl ethyl ketone were independent risk factors for liver dysfunction among chemical and ethylene operation employees in a petrochemical enterprise(OR=1.609,2.807,3.044,1.717,1.258,2.964,1.190,all P<0.05). Conclusion The abnormal liver function of chemical and ethylene operation employees in a certain petrochemical enterprise in Lanzhou is related to risk factors such as years of exposure to occupational hazards,BMI≥28 kg/m2,alcohol consumption, fatty liver, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, exposure to ethylene, olefins, and methyl ethyl ketone, and occupational health protection measures should be taken for employees.
