Objective To understand the current status of thyroid nodules among employees in a large electrical manufacturing company in Wuhu City, and analyze its risk factors,so as to provide a certain basis for the prevention of thyroid nodules. Methods A total of 4 159 employees aged 18 to 85 from a large electrical manufacturing company in Wuhu City who underwent occupational health examinations at the health management center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from January to July 2022 were selected as the research subjects. Determine whether employees had thyroid nodules through color Doppler ultrasonography, and divide them into non-thyroid nodules group(n=1 546) and thyroid nodules group(n=2 613). The detection and characteristics of thyroid nodules in different age groups were analyzed. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine independent risk factors for thyroid nodules in different age groups. Results The total detection rate of 4 159 subjects was 62.83%,including 700 cases of male thyroid nodules with a detection rate of 49.16%,and 1 913 cases of female thyroid nodules, with a detection rate of 69.95%. There was a statistically significant difference in the detection rate of thyroid nodules among employees of different genders(P<0.01). There was a statistically significant difference in the detection rate of thyroid nodules among different age groups, and the detection rate of thyroid nodules increased with age(χ2=171.102,P<0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gender, age, surgical history,aspartate/alanine aminotransferase, thyrotropin, free tetraiodothyronine, and thyrotropin abnormalities were independent risk factors for thyroid nodules in electrical appliance manufacturing employees in southern Anhui region. Conclusion The occurrence of thyroid nodules in electrical appliance manufacturing industry in southern Anhui region is closely related to age, suggesting that employees and managers in the electrical appliance manufacturing industry in this area should pay attention to the screening of thyroid nodules in different ages groups.

Objective To explore the radiation levels of the main environmental concerns around the head Gamma Knife device and evaluate the personal doses of medical personnel working in this environment. Methods The ionization chamber dosimeter was used to detect focal dose rate of gamma knife from November 2011 to April 2021. At the same time, the SW88 X-γ radiation dosimeter was used to monitor the radiation levels of different environmental focus points inside and outside the OUR-XGD head gamma knife treatment room. Based on dose equivalent rate of the standing position where the medical staff stood close to the treatment bed for assisted treatment and a certain number of patients, personal dose of the staff member can be obtained by approximate calculation. Results Focal dose rate of gamma knife decayed exponentially. The radiation level monitoring of the surrounding environment concerns of the gamma knife showed that during the staff-assisted positioning treatment the average dose equivalent rate in the standing position decreased from 5.10 μSv/h to 1.145 μSv/h. Furthermore, the dose equivalent rate at the edge of the Gamma Knife machine room had been reduced to near background radiation levels. Based on the average annual treatment of 200 people and mean retention time of 10 minutes for each patient, total personal dose was approximately calculated with the value of 0.094 mSv,which met the standards for ionizing radiation protection and radiation source safety. Conclusion Under normal treatment conditions, the personal dose level of operating staff from OUR-XGD gamma knife during the process of assisting patient positioning meets the safety requirements of national standards. Moreover,it has no obvious effect on the radiation level of indoor and outdoor environment under the condition of good shielding.

Objective To rapidly screen a food poisoning incident, using ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) technology, laying an experimental foundation for the subsequent identification of tripterygium wilfordii toxin. Methods The ultrasonic-assisted methanol extraction method was used to extract toxins from tripterygium wilfordii plants in a poisoning incident that occurred in a city in Yunnan Province in May 2023. In the experiment,an ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C18 chromatographic column(2.1 mm×50 mm,1.7 μm) was selected to achieve effective separation of each component, and the column temperature was set at 40 ℃. A gradient elution method was applied with 0.1% aqueous formic acid as the aqueous phase and methanol as the organic phase, maintaining a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min and an injection volume of 2.0 μL. Results The linear correlation coefficients(r) of the nine target compounds were all >0.999 within the concentration range of 5.0-500 ng/mL,indicating a good linear relationship among the substances. At the same time, the relative standard deviation(RSD) of the intra-day precision was ≤3.9%,the RSD of inter-day stability was ≤6.9%,and the spiked recoveries rate was 99%-111%,demonstrating high precision and stability. Collect one remaining branch and leaf in the patient's home and one fresh branch and one dead branch in the field identified by the patient. Morphological identification showed that it was tripterygium wilfordii, and rapid screening of botanical specimens using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS detected triptolide in all samples. Conclusion This poisoning incident stems from the unintentional consumption of tripterygium wilfordii foliage, resulting in a foodborne poisoning case. The detection method is easy to operate, highly sensitive, precision, and efficient.

Objective To observe the effects of quercetin on the proliferation, migration, and damage of normal human oral epithelial cells and oral cancer cells ,and explore its mechanism. Methods DOK and HSC-4 cell lines were cultured in vitro, and two types of cells both were divided into a control group and a quercetin(50 μmol/L) treated group.HSC-4 cell line added quercetin(50 μmol/L) group and H2O2(10 μmol/L) group. The response of DOK and HSC-4 cell lines to quercetin intervention was observed, lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) content of each group's culture medium was detected by colorimetric method, colony formation rate of each group was detected by plate colony formation assay, cell migration ability of each group was detected by cell invasion assay, and cell mortality rate of each group was detected by Annexin-V-FITC-PI dual staining flow cytometry. To explore the possible mechanism of quercetin's anti oral cancer effect, intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) levels in DOK and HSC-4 groups was detected by colorimetric method. Results There were no statistically significant differences in various detection indicators between the quercetin treated group and the control group of normal oral epithelial cells DOK(all P>0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the degree of damage, mortality rate, colony formation rate(%),invasion ability, and intracellular ROS levels between the HSC-4 oral cancer cells of quercetin treated group,quercetin+H2O2 group, and control group(all P<0.05). Conclusion Quercetin intervention has no significant effect on the proliferation, migration, and apoptosis of normal human oral epithelial cells DOK,but it has inhibitory effects on proliferation and migration, promotes damage, and increases mortality in human oral cancer cell line HSC-4. Its mechanism of action may be related to the reduction of ROS levels in HSC-4 cells by quercetin.

Objective To analyze the acute toxicity and genotoxicity of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol,and provide toxicological data for its safety use. Methods The up and down procedure(UDP) was used to determine the acute oral toxicity of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol. The toxicity of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol to cells in vitro was evaluated by observing the changes in cell morphology and cell survival rate after exposure. The genotoxicity of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol was detected using mouse bone marrow micronucleus assay, salmonella typhimurium reverse mutation assay(Ames test),and in vitro chromosomal aberration assay based on double chamber slides. Results The median lethal dose(LD50) of acute oral toxicity of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol in mice was 1 098 mg/kg·bw(95%CI 550-2 000 mg/kg·bw).As the dose of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol increases,it was observed under the microscope that the adherent cell morphology gradually became round until most of the cells were autolysed, and the number of cells gradually decreases. The tetramethylazolyl blue(MTT) assay showed that the semi-inhibitory concentration(IC50) of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol on Chinese hamster lung cells(CHL) were 1 970(+S9,6 h)、1 935(-S9,6 h)和1 835(-S9,24 h)μg/mL.Ames test results indicated that under ± S9 conditions, each dose group had no mutagenic effect on the four test strains(TA979a、TA98、TA100、TA102). The average rates of micronucleus containing cells in male and female mice in the three dose groups had no statistically significant difference compared with the negative control group(all P>0.05). The results of the in vitro chromosome aberration test showed that under the three treatment methods of ±S9(6 h) and -S9(24 h),there were no statistical significance in chromosome aberration rates of each dose compared with negative control group(all P>0.05). Conclusion Under the conditions of this experiment, the acute oral toxicity of 1-ethynylcyclohexanol is classified as low toxicity. It exhibits cytotoxicity at concentrations of 500-2 500 μg/mL and is positively correlated with dose, but no genotoxicity was observed.

Objective To empirically test the pre-constructed theoretical competency model of special operations personnel in our army using exploratory and validation factor analysis. Methods Based on the constructed competency model of special operations personnel in our army,a "self-assessment questionnaire of competency characteristics of special operations personnel in our army" was designed. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 680 special operations personnel in July and August 2023,and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to empirically test the above model. Results The results of exploratory factor analysis were consistent with the theoretical competency model. Exploratory factor analysis showed that the structure of competency model of special operations personnel in our army included 38 items in four dimensions:ability,military-related qualities, personality, and attitude, with Cronbach's Alpha coefficients of each dimension ranging from 0.880 to 0.975(all P<0.05).The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the fitness index of the model reached the standard after modification(χ2/df=1.955,RMSEA=0.029,IFI=0.954,TLI=0.934,CFI=0.953),indicating that the measurement model had good external quality. There were positive correlations between the four latent variables, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.530 to 0.840(all P<0.05). Moreover, each potential variable had good reliability and convergent validity(CR=0.891-0.978,AVE=0.541-0.746),indicating that the internal quality of the measurement model and the potential characteristics of potential variables were nice. Conclusion The competency model of special operations personnel in our army is reasonable and can provide a reference basis for the selection, evaluation and training of special operations personnel in our army.
