Abstract: Objective To analyze the differentiation of research on occupational health in different geographical areas and to grasp the current status and development trends of global occupational safety and health research. Methods The development trend, content distribution, research hotspots, and future prospects of occupational safety and health field were analyzed in depth with the help of 92 074 related literatures retrieved from Web of Science by CiteSpace 6.2.R2 software. Results The current research on occupational safety and health could be categorized into three phases:germinationstage(annual publication volume <1 000 articles),development stage(annual publication volume 1 000-<2 000 articles),and explosion stage(annual publication volume >2 000 articles),and currently, all continents were still in the explosion phase. All continents were jointly concerned about issues such as "prevalence" "mental health" "impact" "work" and "stress". There were differences in focus across continents, with Asia focusing more on the impact of career management("management" occurs 425 times) and Europe focusing more on the impact of mental health("mental health" occurs 1 454 times). According to the keyword hotspot to derive the intercontinental research trend,in which the European research would tend to public health,Oceania tended to mental, emotional and other aspects of the research. Conclusion There are differences in occupational health research across continents, but they all focus on the impact on mental health. At present, global research on occupational safety and health is in a period of rapid expansion.
