Research progress on rumination in HIV/AIDS patients

Abstract: Due to the dual characteristics of acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS) with chronic disease and infectious disease,most patients will repeatedly and passively think about the disease in the early stage,also known as rumination. Rumination has been shown to help resolve cognitive problems in HIV infected individuals/AIDS patients and promote the recovery of negative emotions. This article mainly reviews the concept,development,research status,evaluation tools,influencing factors and intervention measures of rumination in HIV infected individuals/AIDS patients. In the absence of relevant research,drawing on knowledge from other fields to provide new ideas for domestic researchers on AIDS,with the aim of providing a reference for psychological care of HIV-infected individuals/AIDS patients.
