Investigation and prospects analysis of the implementation of continuing medical education programs via "cloud live broadcast" in Tianjin Hospital,Tianjin City

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of developing the "cloud live streaming" continuing medical education projects at Tianjin Hospital in Tianjin,and to provide empirical evidence for promoting the development of online continuing medical education. Methods By searching the information management platform for continuing education projects on the Tianjin Continuing Medical Education Network,as well as the online application and information feedback systems for national and Tianjin municipal continuing medical education projects,a retrospective analysis was conducted on the overall overview,disciplinary distribution,trainees,and professional titles of the national,Tianjin municipal,and hospital level continuing medical education live streaming and face-to-face teaching projects at Tianjin Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023,and the data were analyzed. Results From January 2021 to December 2023,the number of projects taught through live broadcast at Tianjin Hospital in Tianjin had been increasing year by year. The cumulative number of learnerson the live broadcast projects platform was 40 366,and the number of face-to-face projects was 7 330. The differences in the proportion of participants in live broadcast projects with different professional titles to the total number of participants in each year were statistically significant(χ2=18.284,44.079,36.139,all P<0.05). The proportion of participants with intermediate professional title to the total number of participants in live broadcast projects was the highest,and the difference was statistically significant(2021:junior/intermediate χ2=6.490,senior/intermediate χ2=16.764,both P<0.05;2022:junior/intermediate χ2=41.692,senior/intermediate χ2=15.158,both P<0.05;2023:junior/intermediate χ2=31.148,senior/intermediate χ2=17.046,both P<0.05). The number of subjects taught through live broadcast had been increasing year by year. Conclusion The enthusiasm of medical staff to participate in the "cloud live broadcast" continuing medical education projects has significantly increased,especially for medical staff with intermediate professional title. Online continuing medical education has obvious advantages. The promotion and application of the "cloud live streaming" continuing medical education projects,resolves the conflict between work and study among medical personnel effectively,satisfies the personalized needs of knowledge updates for various professional medical personnel,and greatly reduce the burden on grassroots personnel. Under the new situation of building a digital China,achieving digital empowerment of medical education to support the high-quality development of the healthcare industry.
