Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of stress, sense of coherence and coping efficiency on college students' life satisfaction and its mechanism. Methods In November 2020,513 college students in a university in Shaanxi Province were investigated with the college student stress scale, life satisfaction scale, sense of coherence scale and coping efficiency energy scale. SPSS 26.0 and PROCESS V3.4 plug-ins were used for data analysis. Results The scores of stress, sense of coherence, life satisfaction and coping efficiency of college students were (0.71±0.5),(4.35±0.82),(3.76±1.11) and (2.77±0.55)points,respectively. There were statistically significant differences in the scores of stress, sense of coherence and life satisfaction among college students of different genders and grades(all P<0.01). The stress of college students was negatively correlated with life satisfaction and sense of coherence(r=-0.341,-0.511,both P<0.01). The sense of coherence played a partial mediating role in the relationship between college students' stress and life satisfaction, with an effect value of -0.485,accounting for 68.33% of the total effect. The coping efficiency positively moderated the relationship between college students' stress and life satisfaction(β=0.081,t=2.200,P<0.05) and the first half of the mediation effect of sense of coherence(β=0.081,t=2.422,P<0.05),that is,with the improvement of coping efficiency, the predictive effect of stress on college students' life satisfaction gradually decreased. Conclusion The stress of college students can affect their life satisfaction through sense of coherence, and coping efficiency can regulate the influence of stress on college students' life satisfaction and sense of coherence.
