Effects of health-related behaviors and life events on sub-health of urban residents in Shiyan City

Abstract: Objective To investigate the sub-health status of urban residents in Shiyan City of Hubei Province,analyze the impact of health-related behaviors and life events on sub-health status. Methods In June 2021,a total of 1 150 urban residents in three districts of Shiyan City in Hubei Province were selected by convenience sampling,to carry out a questionnaire investigation by the health related behavior questionnaire,negative life events questionnaire and sub-health measurement scale(SHMS V1.0),and the data were analyzed. Results The total converted score of SHMS V1.0 among urban residents in three districts of Shiyan City in Hubei Province was (68.13±18.43)points. The total converted score of physical sub-health,psychological sub-health and social sub-health was (68.46±14.05),(68.31±15.91) and (67.37±16.78)points,respectively. The total detection rate of sub-health was 62.83%. The multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender,per capita monthly income,living conditions,physical exercise,frequency of eating breakfast,nutrition quality,whether to maintain a healthy body mass,daily average sleep time,diagnosed diseases,and negative life events were the main factors affecting sub-health of urban residents. Conclusion The detection rate of sub-health of urban residents in three districts of Shiyan City in Hubei Province is slightly lower than that of other areas,health-related behaviors and life events have an important impact on sub-health.
