Investigation on the status quo of nurses' professional well-being in military hospitals and analysis of influencing factors

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the status quo of nurses' professional well-being in military hospitals and analyze its influencing factors. Methods From September to December 2019, 396 nurses were selected from 4 central military hospitals in Tibet, Qinghai, Shaanxi and Henan Provinces by convenient sampling. General information questionnaire, medical workers' occupational well-being scale, self-rating anxiety scale, self-rating depression scale,social support rate scale were used for the questionnaire survey. Results The total score of the occupational well-being of nurses in military hospitals was 78.05 ±16.22. Multiple stepwise
regression analysis showed that marital status, number of night shifts per week, working hours per week, sleep time per day,depression and social support were influencing factors of occupational well-being(β=-2.651,-4.255,-2.003,-3.310, -2.930,5.770,all P<0.05). Conclusion The occupational well-being of nurses in military hospitals is at a medium level. The society, hospitals,and nurses should work together to improve their professional well-being in multiple ways
