Job competency model for intermediate aged care workers in Shaanxi Province

Abstract: Objective To develop a job competency model for intermediate aged care workers in Shaanxi Province,provide a theoretical basis for standardizing the assessment and selection of elderly care workers. Methods From February to December 2021,on the basis of literature review,semi-structured interviews and questionnaire surveys,the Delphi expert consultation method was applied to clarify the job competency indicators and entries for intermediate elderly care workers in Shaanxi Province. Results There were 19 experts in the correspondence,and the effective recovery rate of the questionnaires in the two rounds of expert inquiries was 100%,the positive degree of experts was 100%,the authority coefficient was 0.86,the coordination coefficient was 0.00-0.15,and the Kendall coefficient was 0.246(P<0.01). The finalized job competency model of intermediate elderly care workers in Shaanxi Province covers 4 first-level indicators,14 second-level indicators and 54 third-level indicators. Conclusion The job competency model of intermediate elderly care workers in Shaanxi Province constructed in this study has a high degree of enthusiasm and authority of experts,a good degree of coordination of opinions,and a certain degree of scientificity,reliability,feasibility and promotion,which can provide basic compliance for standardizing the hierarchical training,hierarchical management,objective evaluation and assessment appointment of intermediate elderly care workers in Shaanxi Province.
