Abstract: Objective To study the auxiliary hypoglycemic effect of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii on alloxan-induced insulin-resistant glucose/lipid metabolism metabolism disorder model rats. Methods Totally 75 Wistar rats were fed with a high-calorie diet supplemented with intraperitoneal injection of alloxan[105 mg/(kg·bw)] to establish an insulin-resistant glucose/lipid metabolism disorder model. The Chlamydomonas reinhardtii powder was orally administered at doses of 0.5,1.0 and 2.0 g/(kg·bw·d) for 33 consecutive days, and the fasting blood glucose and glucose tolerance index, serum cholesterol(CHO),triglyceride(TG) and insulin resistance index were measured,to investigate the auxiliary hypoglycemic effect of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in rats.At the same time,20 Wistar rats were divided into a dose group[2.0 g/(kg·bw·d)] and a control group. They were orally given Chlamydomonas reinhardtii powder for 33 consecutive days and fed with common feed, and the fasting blood glucose was measured,to investigate the hypoglycemic effect of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in normal rats. Results For insulin resistance glucose/lipid metabolism disorder model rats, the area under the blood glucose curve of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii powder[2.0 g/(kg·bw·d)] was lower than that of the model control group(P<0.05),and the result of glucose tolerance index was positive.Compared with the model control group, the blood lipid CHO and TG of each dose group had no significant increase(P>0.05). The Chlamydomonas reinhardtii powder had no effect on fasting blood glucose of normal rats. Conclusion The Chlamydomonas reinhardtii has an auxiliary hypoglycemic effect on insulin-resistant glucose/lipid metabolism disorder rats.
