Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of adversity quotient in male nurses, and explore the influencing factors of adversity quotient from the two aspects of intrinsic personality and external support,so as to provide a reference for formulating a reasonable intervention plan. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 257 male nurses in 10 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Anhui Province by using general information questionnaire, simplified coping style questionnaire, social support questionnaire, organizational support scale and adversity quotient scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The total score of male nurses' adversity quotient was(138.24±23.42)points. The total score and dimension scores of adversity quotient in male nurses were positively correlated with positive coping style, social support and perceived organizational support(r=0.280-0.448,all P<0.01),and negatively correlated with negative coping style(r=-0.138--0.177,all P<0.05).The age, household registration, department, coping style, social support, and perceived organizational support were the main influencing factors of male nurses' adversity quotient(all P<0.05),which could explain 33.0% of the variance. Conclusions The adversity quotient of male nurses in Anhui Province is at the middle level and is affected by many factors. The nursing managers should formulate targeted interventions to improve the level of adversity quotient of male nurses according to the influencing factors of adversity quotient as the entry point,so as to promote the stability of the clinical nursing team.
