Study on relationship between physical function symptoms,sub-health symptoms and job involvement of operating room nurse in grade-A tertiary hospital in Mianyang City

Abstract: Objective To investigate the status of physical work symptoms,sub-health symptoms and job involvement of operating room nurse in grade-A tertiary hospital in Mianyang City,analyze the influencing factors of job involvement of nurses in operating room. Methods A total of 342 operating room nurses from four grade-A tertiary hospitals in Mianyang City were selected by random cluster sampling from June to July 2022. The physical function symptom scale,sub-health symptom scale and work engagement scale were used for the survey,and the data were analyzed. Results The scores of physical function symptoms,sub-health symptoms and work engagement of operating room nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Mianyang City were (30.34±7.89),(124.85±12.09) and (43.82±12.02)points,respectively. There were statistically significant differences in scores of physical dysfunction among operating room nurses with different gender,education level,employment form,professional title,operating room working years,and weekly overtime hours(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the scores of sub-health symptoms among operating room nurses with different gender,education level,employment form,professional title,working years and health status(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in job involvement scores among operating room nurses with different gender,education level,employment form,professional title,monthly average income,operating room working years and health status(all P<0.05). The scores of physical dysfunction of operating room nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Mianyang City were negatively correlated with the scores of work engagement and sub-health symptoms(all P<0.05),and dub-health symptoms scores were positively correlated with work engagement scores(P<0.05). The professional title,monthly income,health status,physical dysfunction and sub-health symptoms were the main influencing factors of job involvement of nurses in operating room(all P<0.05),explaining 77.2% of the total variables. Conclusion The scores of work engagement among operating room nurse in grade-A tertiary hospital in Mianyang City is at a medium level,the physical dysfunction symptoms and sub-health symptoms are important influencing factors,and relieving physical functional symptoms and sub-health symptoms of operating room nurses can effectively improve their work engagement.
