Abstract: Legionella pneumophila is the main pathogenic factor leading to Legionnaires' disease. Legionella pneumophila may breed in the central air conditioning cooling system. It is important to detect Legionella pneumophila accurately and efficiently for its prevention and control. The paper briefly reviews themethods commonly used in the detection of Legionella pneumophila, introduces the methods of bacterial isolation and culture, fluorescence quantitative PCR(quantitative polymerase chain reaction,qPCR) detection and enzyme substrate detection, and compares the advantages and problems of several methods in the detection of Legionella pneumophila.
