Abstract: Objective To explore the multiple chain mediating effects of perceived stress, depression and anxiety between mobile phone addiction and sleep quality among college students,so as to provide guidance of improving the sleep quality and physical and mental health development of college students. Methods In May 2022,a total of 398 college students in Guangdong Province were collected by the convenient sampling method, and surveyed by using general situation questionnaire,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),mobile phone addiction index(MPAI),Chinese perceived stress scale(CPSS),patient health questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and generalized anxiety disorder-7(GAD-7). And the data were analyzed. Results The detection rates of sleep disorders and mobile phone addiction were 27.9% and 38.2% respectively. There were significant positive correlations among sleep quality, mobile phone addiction, perceived stress, depression and anxiety respectively(all P<0.01). The perceived stress, depression and anxiety separately mediated the association between mobile phone and sleep quality. The mobile phone addiction could affect sleep quality through the multiple chain mediation of perceived stress depression and anxiety, and the two mediating paths were mobile phone addiction → perceived stress → depression → sleep quality, and mobile phone addiction → perceived stress → anxiety → sleep quality, both accounting for 15.07% of the total effects. Conclusion Reducing the levels of mobile phone addiction, perceived stress, depression and anxiety can improve college students' sleep quality.
