Analysis on Molecular characteristics and antibiotic resistance of Salmonella spp isolated from diarrhea patients in Daxing District of Beijing from 2018-2021

Abstract: Objective To understand the infection status,epidemiological and etiological characteristics,and drug resistance of Salmonella spp isolated from diarrhea patients in enteric diseases clinic of Daxing District in Beijing,provide evidence for the prevention,control and clinical treatment of Salmonella spp. Methods From 2018-2021,the stool samples of diarrhea patients in enteric diseases clinic of three sentinel hospitals in Daxing District were collected for testing Salmonella spp,and the isolated Salmonella spp were analyzed by serotyping,pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and antibiotics susceptibility test. Results A total of 1 499 stool samples were tested in four years,and 65 strains(4.34%) of Salmonella spp were detected. The main serotype was Salmonella enteritidis(53.85%). The difference in the detection rate of Salmonella spp was statistically significant among different age groups(P<0.01),and the highest infection rate(10.30%) was in the age group of 1-<11 years old. There were statistically significant differences in the detection rate among groups in different age and occupation(all P>0.05).The results of drug resistance test showed that there were great differences in the degree of drug resistance of Salmonella spp. Except that it was completely sensitive to cefoxitin,meropenem and azithromycin,it had certain drug resistance to other antibiotics. The pulsed field gel electrophoresisanalysis showed that 20 PFGE patterns were found in 35 Salmonella spp strains,with the dominant patterns of B8 and B10,and the similarity coefficients of strains were 40.6%-98.7%. Conclusion The Salmonella enteritidisis predominant serotype of Salmonella spp in Daxing District of Beijing,the PFGE patterns show polymorphism,and the drug resistance is strong,so the rational use of antibiotics should be strengthened in clinical treatment.
