Study on correlation between family care,sense of life control and subjective well-being of rural elderly people in Dabie Mountain area

Abstract: Objective To explore the present situation and influencing factors of subjective well-being of rural elderly people in Dabie Mountain area,analyze the correlation between family care,sense of life control and subjective well-being. Methods From December 2021 to February 2022,432 rural elderly people in Dabie Mountain area of Anqing City were selected by convenience sampling method. The general information questionnaire,family care index questionnaire,sense of control in life scale and University of Newfoundland happiness scale(MUNSH) were used for investigation. Results The total score of subjective well-being of 432 rural elderly people in Dabie Mountain area was(28.44±10.30)points,the total score of sense of family care index was (4.86±2.76)points,and the total score of life control was(19.01±4.73)points. The family care,sense of life control and subjective well-being were positively correlated(all P<0.01). The older group and poor self-rated health were risk factors for subjective well-being of rural elderly people in Dabie Mountain area(all P<0.01). Many children,high family care and high sense of life control were the protective factors of subjective well-being of rural elderly people in Dabie Mountain area(all P<0.01). Conclusion The primary medical staff should actively carry out psychological nursing,encourage families to play a good family function,enhance the sense of life control of the elderly,and constantly improve the happiness of the elderly.
