Analysis on job satisfaction of grassroots AIDS prevention and control personnel in Nanning City

Abstract: Objective To understand the job satisfaction and its influencing factors of AIDS prevention and control personnel in Nanning City. Methods From June to October 2021,a self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the job satisfaction of all AIDS prevention and control personnel in township health centers and community health service centers(hereinafter referred to as "grass-roots health units") in Nanning City. Results The overall job satisfaction of grassroots AIDS prevention and control personnel was low,and only 21.71% of the respondents were satisfied with their work. Among them,the satisfaction rate of township health centers was 26.37%,which was higher than that of community health service centers(5.26%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=11.639,P<0.01). Among the different satisfaction factors,the respondents are the most dissatisfied with wages and benefits. Among different professionals,the satisfaction of preventive medicine was the lowest. The monthly income level,workload,technical title and training were the main factors affecting the job satisfaction of grassroots AIDS prevention and control personnel. Conclusions The overall job satisfaction level of grassroots AIDS prevention and control personnel in Nanning City is low. The monthly income level,workload,technical title and training are the main factors affecting the job satisfaction of grassroots AIDS prevention and control personnel. It is necessary to improve the wage income and welfare level of grassroots AIDS prevention and control personnel,expand the number of personnel and appropriately reduce the working pressure of existing AIDS prevention personnel,and strengthen personnel training and continuing education to improve their job satisfaction.
