Abstract: Objective To understand the mental health status of freshmen in senior high school during the adaptation period in Rizhao No.1 Middle School, analyze its influencing factors, and provide basis for mental health education of middle school students. Methods From 2018 to 2021,the questionnaire Mental health diagnostic test of middle school students(MHT) was distributed to all freshmen on the first weekend after the military training of freshmen in senior high school in every year, and the data were analyzed. Results From 2018 to 2021,the mean score of MHT among freshmen in Rizhao No. 1 Middle School decreased by 3.16 points. There were statistically significant differences in the scores of each factor and the total score of MHT between gender groups(all P<0.01). The high-frequency abnormal factors were physical symptoms(9.65%),allergic tendencies (8.51%) and impulsive tendencies(6.99%). Conclusions The mental health level of freshmen in Rizhao No.1 Middle School has been improved,high-frequency abnormal factors have changed, and the mental health level of girls is lower than that of boys.
