Abstract: Objective To understand the current state of burnout among operating room nurses in three tertiary hospitals in Nanjing City, analyze the mediating effect of self-resilience between job involvement and job burnout ofnurses in operating room. Methods The convenience sampling method was used to select 314 operating room nurses from three tertiary hospitals in Nanjing City from March to April 2021. The general information questionnaire,self-resilience scale, occupational burnout scale and work involvement scale were used to investigate the operating room nurses, and AMOS 22.0 software was used to verify the relationship between the three. Results The total score of job burnout of 314 nurses in operating room was (69.79±10.94)points. The mediation effect analysis showed that work involvement directly and negatively predicted job burnout(β=-0.560,P<0.01),and positively predicted self-resilience(β=-0.580,P<0.01),while self-resilience directly negatively predicted job burnout(β=-0.350,P<0.01). The job involvement with self-resilience as a mediating variable had an indirect negative predictor of job burnout, with an indirect effect value of -0.203(P<0.01). Conclusions The job burnout of operating room nurses in three tertiary hospitals in Nanjing City is at a moderate level. The higher the job involvement and self-resilience of operating room nurses, the lower the job burnout level. The self-resilience plays a partial mediating role in the impact of job involvement on job burnout. It is suggested that nursing managers can enhance the self-resilience of nurses through humanistic care and vocational psychological training, and improve the positive impact of work involvement on job burnout.
