Research progress on nurses' professional grief

Abstract: Facing the death of a patient,nurses not only empathize with the grief,but also need to provide timely nursing care for other patients,which creates a certain degree of physical and mental pressure,seriously affecting their emotions,cognition,and professional happiness. The nurses who are trapped in a state of sadness for a long time are prone to professional burnout and empathy fatigue,which can affect the quality of nursing and even lead to cognitive changes in invasive thoughts of death. This article reviews the concept,evaluation tools,current situation,influencing factors and promotion strategies of nurses' professional grief,in an effort to provide reference for nursing managers to construct intervention programs to reduce the level of nurses' professional grief,so as to promote the growth of grief and help them attend to grief better.
