Abstract: Objective To understand the incidence and trend of notifiable infectious diseases among children under 15 years old in Nanjing, and to provide reference for prevention and control of infectious diseases in children. Methods Descriptive epidemiology and Joinpoint regression were used to analyze the notifiable infectious diseases surveillance data of children under 15 years old in Nanjing from 2004 to 2022. Results From 2004 to 2022,a total of 287 666 cases of 25 notifiable infectious diseases among children under 15 years old were reported in Nanjing, with an annual incidence of 1 074.88/100 000,showing a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The number of enteric infectious diseases was the largest, with a incidence rate of 1 495.57/100 000,showing a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, mainly hand-foot-mouth disease and other infectious diarrhea. The second was respiratory infectious diseases, the incidence rate was 203.37/100 000,showing a trend of first decreasing and then increasing, mainly mumps and influenza. The incidence of blood-borne and sexually transmitted diseases was 5.67/100 000,showing a trend of decreasing, mainly syphilis and gonorrhea. The peak incidence of notifiable infectious diseases in children under 15 years old in Nanjing from 2004 to 2022 was from May to July in summer and from November to December in winter. The incidence was higher in boys than in girls. The incidence of enteric infectious diseases was mainly concentrated in children under 5 years old,and the incidence of respiratory infectious diseases was mainly concentrated in children aged≥5 years old. Conclusion From 2004 to 2022,the reported incidence of notifiable infectious diseases among children under 15 years old showed a decreasing trend in general.Children are a key population for the prevention and control of infectious diseases, the surveillance of hand-foot-mouth disease, other infectious diarrhea and mumps should be strengthened, and targeted prevention and control measures should be taken according to the characteristics of different diseases.
