Research progress on the fear of negative evaluation among college students

Abstract: Fear of negative evaluation is widely present among college students and is one of the important sources of social anxiety. If college students are in a state of high negative evaluation fear for a long time,it can easily lead to psychological and behavioral problems such as depression,suicidal ideation,dietary disorders,and alcoholism,which have serious and far-reaching effects on their physical and mental health. This paper collates and analyzes the progress of measurement methods,related influencing factors and intervention countermeasures of college students' fear of negative evaluation,aiming to help college students face up to negative evaluation,while drawing the attention of parents and educators to fear of negative evaluation among college students,and providing a theoretical basis for exploring a multi-level intervention models for individuals,families and society.
