Abstract: Objective To understand the core self-evaluation,organizational support and career adaptability of nosocomial infection prevention and control practitioners(IPCPs),and analyze the mediating effect of core self-evaluation between organizational support and career adaptability. Methods In December 2022,a convenience sampling method was used to survey 322 IPCPs from 53 hospitals in Anhui Province using a general information questionnaire, core self-evaluation scale, organizational support scale, and occupational adaptation strength scale, and the data was analyzed. Results The total scores of core self-evaluation,organizational support and career adaptability of 322 IPCPs were (35.68±4.91),(42.41±8.90) and (89.72±11.26)points,respectively. There was a positive correlation between the core self-evaluation,organizational support, and career adaptability of IPCPs(all P<0.01). Core self-evaluation of IPCPs had a partial mediating effect between perceived organizational support and career adaptability(β=0.133,P<0.01),accounting for 36.3% of the total effect value. Conclusions Core self-evaluation and career adaptability of 322 IPCPs from 5 hospitals in Anhui Province were at an above medium level, and perceived organizational support was at a medium level. Perceived organizational support of IPCPs can indirectly affect their career adaptability through core self-evaluation. Hospital managers should take positive measures to improve perceived organizational support and core self-evaluation of IPCPs,so as to enhance their career adaptability.
