Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of sleep quality of medical students in Guizhou Province, find out the main factors affecting their sleep, and provide scientific reference for improving students' sleep quality and mental health level in medical colleges and universities. Methods From April to June 2023,a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 9 266 medical students from six medical colleges and universities in Guizhou Province. Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) was used to investigate their sleep quality, and logistic regression analysis was used to carry out multivariate analysis of all data. Results The total PSQI score of medical students in Guizhou Province was (4.76±3.10)points,and the detection rate of sleep disorders was 19.18 %(1 777/9 266). The scores of PSQI and each dimension were positively correlated with the scores of stress, anxiety, depression and negative coping style(all P<0.01). The influencing factors of sleep disorders of medical students in Guizhou Province were low school stage, high grade, sick leave, low self-rated health status, negative emotions, and tendency to use negative coping styles(all P<0.05). Conclusions The sleep quality of medical students in Guizhou Province is at a general level, and the detection rate of sleep disorders is high. It is necessary to add courses related to sleep management and negative emotion regulation, increase the attention of medical students to sleep and mental health, collaborate with the mental health department to provide corresponding consultation and assistance to medical students,so as to improve their sleep problems, and enhance their psychological resilience.
