Abstract: The "Healthy China Action(2019-2030)" points out that it is necessary to guide the masses to establish correct health concepts, form a healthy lifestyle and environment. However, many Chinese residents are in passive health management and lack active health awareness. Currently, there are still a large number of unhealthy behaviors, and the incidence of diseases among residents remains high. The integrated theory of health behavior change(ITHBC),as a comprehensive theory in the field of behavior change,is a powerful tool that can help intervention personnel in analyzing behavior influencing factors and developing behavior change intervention plans. The theory includes three constructs and two outcomes:knowledge and beliefs,self-regulation,social facilitation, proximal and distal outcomes,to promote health behavior change related to chronic disease management and health promotion. This paper reviews the origin, concept, content framework, and current application status of ITHBC in the field of health promotion based on previous domestic and foreign research. Based on this, insights are drawn to provide reference for the development of ITHBC and ideas for its application in the field of health promotion.
