Abstract: Objective To explore the mediating effect of occupational burnout between perceived stress and self resilience among nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Tianjin, provide clinical ideas for intervention measures to improve nurses' self resilience. Methods From March to May 2024,a total of 346 nurses from two grade-A tertiary hospitals in Tianjin were selected using the convenience sampling method. They were surveyed using a general information questionnaire, the Chinese perceived stress scale, the ego-resiliency scale, and the China Maslach burnout inventory. Results The total scores of perceived stress,self-resilience and occupational burnout among nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Tianjin was(39.26±7.75),(39.93±7.12) and(47.67±12.22) points, respectively. The results of correlation analysis showed that self-resilience was negatively correlated with perceived stress and occupational burnout(r=-0.508,-0.460,both P<0.01). The perceived stress was positively correlated with occupational burnout(r=0.694,P<0.01). The nurses' perceived stress could negatively predict self-resilience(β=-0.314,P<0.01),and occupational burnout negatively predicted self-resilience(β=-0.109,P<0.01). The occupational burnout had a mediating effect on perceived stress and self-resilience,with an effect value of -0.119,accounting for 27.48% of the total effect size. Conclusion The self-resilience of nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Tianjin is at the upper middle level, and occupational burnout plays a mediating role in the relationship between perceived stress and self-resilience. It is suggested that hospital managers should optimize the working stress environment of nurses and pay attention to the degree of occupational burnout to improve self-resilience and better improve the quality of nursing services.
