Abstract: Objective To investigate the status of non-compliant tasks, psychological detachment and work-family conflict in emergency department nurses, study the mediating role of psychological detachment between non-compliant tasks and work-family conflict, and provide reference for reducing the level of work-family conflict among nurses in emergency department. Methods From April to June 2024,nurses in the emergency department of 10 grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shandong Province were selected by the random sampling method as the research subjects. The non-compliant tasks scale, psychological detachment scale and work-family conflict scale were used to investigate and analyze them. Results The scores of non-compliant tasks, psychological detachment and work-family conflict of emergency department nurses were (29.72±4.58),(9.26±2.12) and (63.45±16.58)points,respectively. The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of non-compliance tasks among nurses in emergency department in terms of gender, age, professional title, working years, average monthly income, marital status, number of night shifts per month and employment form(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the scores of psychological detachment among emergency department nurses with different gender, age, professional title, working years, average monthly income, marital status and the number of night shifts per month(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the scores of work-family conflict among emergency department nurses with different age, professional title, working years, average monthly income and the number of night shifts per month(all P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between non-compliant tasks and work-family conflict of emergency department nurses(r=0.636,P<0.01),a negative correlation between psychological detachment and work-family conflict(r=-0.554,P<0.01),and a negative correlation between non-compliant tasks and psychological detachment(r=-0.584,P<0.01). The psychological detachment played a partial mediating role between non-compliant tasks and work-family of emergency department nurses, with a mediating effect of 0.274,accounting for 46.92% of the total effect. Conclusion The psychological detachment plays a mediating role between non-compliant tasks and work-family conflict of emergency department nurses, and improving the psychological detachment level of emergency department nurses on the basis of reducing the level of non-compliant tasks can help alleviate work-family conflict.
