Abstract: Objective To study the psychological health characteristics of high-altitude mission officers and soldiers and their relationship with cognitive function. Methods The mental health questionnaire, cognitive flexibility questionnaire, and attention bias questionnaire were used to evaluate the top 101 officers and soldiers performing high-altitude tasks,126 during the task period, and 111 officers and soldiers after withdrawal from March 2022 to February 2023. Results There were statistically significant differences in the psychological status of officers and soldiers performing tasks at high altitude in terms of gender(tsomatization=2.750, tdepression=4.417), personnel category(Fsomatization=5.116, Fdepression=3.289, Fanxiety=6.514, Fpsychopathy=3.306, Fsuspicion=6.392, Ffantasy=5.798) and education level(Fsomatization=2.751, Fdepression=6.721, Fanxiety=6.459, Fpsychopathy=4.676,Fsuspicion=6.837, Ffantasy=3.869)(all P<0.05). The scores for somatization, depression and suspicion of officers and soldiers during the mission and after the withdrawal were significantly higher than before the mission(Fsomatization=8.853, Fdepression=3.349, Fsuspicion=3.540, all P<0.05), the scores of excitement state before the mission and after the withdrawal were significantly higher than during the mission(F=3.224, P<0.05), the scores of control before the mission and during the mission were significantly higher than after the withdrawal(F=5.106, P<0.05). The factors of psychological status were significantly negatively correlated with select(r=-0.385, -0.365, -0.342, -0.292, -0.255, -0.318, all P<0.01), control(r=-0.436, -0.424, -0.431, -0.361, -0.385,-0.437, -0.107,all P<0.05), positive attentional bias(r=-0.266,-0.241,-0.254,-0.291,-0.248,-0.315,all P<0.01), and significantly positively correlated with negative attentional bias(r=0.320,0.259,0.366,0.404, 0.379,0.418,0.153, all P<0.05). Conclusion Attention should be paid to the psychological status of officers and soldiers who perform tasks at high altitude according to the time node, and special attention should be paid to the psychological status of women, officers and highly educated groups. The psychological status can predict the cognitive flexibility and attentional bias of officers and soldiers.
