Abstract: Objective To compare the assessment tools for activities of daily living activities in elderly people at home and abroad, and provide reference for clinical staff to screen suitable tools for evaluating activities of daily living in the elderly. Methods A systematic search of Chinese and English databases was conducted, selecting literature related to the development or validation of activities of daily living assessment tools.A scoping review methodology was employed for analysis. Results A total of 34 studies were included,of which 20 focused on tool development and 14 on validation. There were a total of 20 tools, including 6 general-purpose tools and 14 specific-purpose tools. Conclusion There is a diverse range of activities of daily living assessment tools for the elderly, with a predominance of specific-purpose tools. The overall reliability of these tools is good, but there are still some deficiencies in validity.Clinical staff should consider comprehensively when selecting tools. In the future,it is recommended that intelligent technologies be integrated to enable personalized,real-time,and remote assessment of the activities of daily living of elderly individuals.
