Analysis on occupational diseases incidence and trends in Jinshan District of Shanghai City from 2011 to 2023

Abstract: Objective To analyze the characteristics and trends of occupational diseases in Jinshan District of Shanghai City from 2011 to 2023,provide scientific data for occupational disease prevention and control. Methods The data of the occupational disease cases in Jinshan District of Shanghai City from 2011 to 2023 were collected,to compare and analyze the overall situation of occupational diseases incidence. Results From 2011 to 2023,there were a total of 265 newly diagnosed occupational diseases in Jinshan District of Shanghai City,with a male to female ratio of 9.19∶1. The average age of onset was (41.01±11.09)years old,and the median length of service was four years.The top three occupational diseases were occupational eye diseases(169 cases,63.77%),occupational chemical poisoning(39 cases,14.72%),and occupational otolaryngological and stomatological diseases(30 cases,11.32%). The spectrum of occupational diseases had changed,with an increase in cases of noise-induced deafness and a decrease in the cases of occupational skin diseases. The pneumoconiosis and other respiratory diseases,occupational diseases caused by physical factors,occupational tumors,and occupational skin diseases occurred sporadically. The cases were mainly distributed in Jinshanwei Town,Industrial Zone,Tinglin Town,Shanyang Town,Caojing Town and Zhangyan Town. The industry distribution mainly included chemical raw material and chemical product manufacturing,metal products manufacturing,specialized equipment manufacturing,and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Conclusions In recent years,the overall trend of newly diagnosed occupational diseases has been decreasing,mainly including occupational eye diseases,occupational chemical poisoning,occupational otolaryngological and stomatological diseases. The reports of noise-induced deafness have increased,while other occupational diseases occur sporadically.It is necessary to further strengthen and improve the prevention and control of occupational diseases.
