Abstract:

Objective To compare the applicability of four occupational health risk assessment methods in key positions of natural gas long-distance pipeline compressor stations located in plateau and plain areas, provide a basis for implementing occupational hazard control measures. Methods A compressor station of natural gas long-distance pipeline in the plateau area and another in the plain area were selected as the research objects, and the one-site investigations and detection of occupational hazard factors were conducted in 2024.The occupational health risk level of key positions were evaluated by the classification of Occupational Hazardous Work in the Workplace(GBZ/T 229),the International Council on Mining and Metals(ICMM) model, the comprehensive index method of Technical Guidelines for Occupational Health Risk Assessment of Chemical Hazardous Factors in the Workplace(GBZ/T 298-2017) and the occupational hazard risk index method, and the results of the four risk assessment methods were compared. Results All the results of four risk assessment methods were standardized using risk ratios, the method of classification of occupational hazards in the workplace evaluated all chemical hazardous factors as low risk(2nd level),the comprehensive index method also assessed all chemical hazardous factors as low risk(2nd level),the ICMM quantitative method showed that noise was medium risk(3rd level) and chemical hazardous factors were negligible risk(1st level),and the occupational hazard risk index method evaluated all chemical hazardous factors as negligible risk(1st level). A Fleiss Kappa consistency test was conducted using SPSS 25.0,and the result indicated a low overall agreement(Kappa=-0.202<0.2,P<0.01),which was statistically significant. Conclusions The evaluation results of occupational health risks from chemical hazardous factors in long-distance pipeline compressor stations in plateau and plain areas are consistent in each risk assessment method. However, the consistency of assessment results among the four methods is low. Each of the four methods is applicable to different aspects, and they can be used simultaneously to ensure the effectiveness of prevention and control measures.
