Abstract:

Objective To analyze the mortality rate, premature death probability and trends of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among registered residents in Yancheng City from 2009 to 2024,providing foundational data for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Yancheng City. Methods Mortality data for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among registered residents in Yancheng City from 2009 to 2024 were analyzed using the Joinpoint regression model and formulas related to premature death probability, and key indicators included the average annual percentage change(AAPC) in mortality, premature death probability, average growth rate, and predicted values. Results In 2024,cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases caused 22 669 deaths among registered residents in Yancheng City, accounting for 35.94% of total deaths, with 35.95% increase compared to 2009. The age-standardized mortality rate decreased from 189.84/100 000 in 2009 to 124.47/100 000 in 2024(AAPC=-2.35%,t=-3.356,P<0.01). The age-specific mortality rate of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Yancheng City from 2009 to 2024 was positively correlated with age. The overall premature death probability declined from 4.63% in 2009 to 2.84% in 2024(AAPC=-3.44%,t=-14.123,P<0.01). To achieve the "Healthy China 2030" target for male populations,an additional 0.11% reduction in premature death probability was required. Conclusion From 2009 to 2024,the standardized mortality rate and premature death probability for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Yancheng City demonstrate downward trends. However, the overall mortality rate of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in high-risk elderly populations is relatively high. Therefore,it is necessary to further strengthen the comprehensive prevention and control of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in high-risk elderly populations, and carry out targeted risk factor interventions to reduce the mortality rate of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
