Abstract:

Objective To investigate the current situation of sleep inertia among clinical shift nurses and analyze its influencing factors,in order to provide reference for developing targeted intervention measures in clinical practice to reduce the sleep inertia level of shift nurses. Methods From February to April 2025,a convenience sampling was used to select 840 shift nurses from three hospitals in Dazhou City,Sichuan Province as the research subjects. The general information questionnaire, sleep inertia questionnaire, perceived stress scale and perceived social support scale were used for the investigation, and the data were analyzed. Results The total score of shift nurses' sleep inertia was (69.14±16.30)points,and the score of perceived stress was (23.97±8.73)points,and the score of perceived social support was (50.18±13.11)points. The sleep inertia score of shift nurses was positively correlated with each dimension and total score of perceived stress(r=0.191-0.358,all P<0.01),and negatively correlated with each dimension and total score of perceived social support(r=-0.660--0.431,all P<0.01). The results of regression analysis showed that the working years of shift nurses, the frequency of night shifts, the feeling of night shifts, the degree of impact of night shifts, perceived stress and perceived social support were all the influencing factors of sleep inertia(all P<0.05),which could explain 69.2% of the variation. Conclusion The sleep inertia phenomenon of shift nurses is relatively serious. Clinical nursing managers should focus on its influencing factors, accurately identify the risk population, formulate targeted intervention measures, alleviate the sleep inertia phenomenon, and promote the healthy development of the profession.
