Analysis on human brucellosis surveillance results in Yanqi County of Xinjiang from 2019-2021

Abstract

Abstract: Objective To analyze the epidemic situation and epidemic characteristics of brucellosis in Yanqi County of Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang,provide the epidemiological data for future development of prevention and control measures. Methods The serological testing was performed on high-risk populations for brucellosis in Yanqi County from 2019 to 2021,and the test results were analyzed statistically. Results From 2019 to 2021,a total of 3 525 key people for brucellosis were monitored,and 2 208 serum samples were collected. The average positive rate of blood testing was 11.82% and the average prevalence rate was 6.35%. Thepositive rate of blood testing and prevalence rate decreased gradually in three years（χ²=49.503, 15.539,both P<0.01）.The positive rate of blood testing and prevalence rate in Beidaqu township were the highest,which was 19.21% and 11.33% respectively. There was a positive correlation between the positive rate of blood testing and prevalence rate in townships（r=0.95,P<0.01）. For the occupational distribution,the positive rate of blood testing and prevalence rate were higher in herdsmen and farmers,and lower in students and medical staff（all P<0.01）. Conclusion The human brucellosis epidemic in Yanqi County from 2019 to 2021 show a continuous downward trend,but the epidemic situation of human brucellosisis still relatively serious in some townships,especially the prevalence rate of high-risk occupational groups is relatively high,and monitoring and intervention in key areas and populations should be further strengthened.
