Abstract: Objective To systematically evaluate the prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in Chinese adults. Methods The Chinese and English studies on the prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in Chinese adults were searched in PubMed,The Cochrane Library,Web of Science,CNKI,VIP,Wanfang and CBM databases from January 2012 to March 2022. The Stata15.0 software was used for meta-analysis,and subgroup analysis was conducted by gender, region and year. Results The prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in Chinese adults was 32%(95%CI:27%-36%). The subgroup analysis showed that the prevalence in males(36%) was higher than that in females(23%),the prevalence in southern region(34%) was higher than that in northern region(28%),and the prevalence in 2017-2021(32%) was higher than that in 2012-2016(31%). Conclusion The prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in adults is high in China,so the prevention and treatment measures should be strengthened to reduce the prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
