Methods From May to August 2021,549 nurses in department of obstetrics and gynecology in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Guangdong Province were selected as survey subjects by the convenient sampling method, and were evaluated by the general information questionnaire, work addiction scale and working time pressure scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The total score of work addiction among 549 obstetrics and gynecology nurses was (56.57±14.17) points,196(35.7%) had no work addiction,109(19.9%) had mild work addiction and 244(44.4%) had high work addiction. The total score of working time pressure was (16.60±4.99)points,37(6.7%) were under no working time stress,256(46.6%) were under low working time stress, and 256(46.6%) were under high working time stress. In the work addiction scale, the score of keeping busy was the highest[(13.75±3.47)points],followed by focusing on work and restraining emotions. There were statistically significant differences in work addiction scores among obstetrics and gynecology nurses with different working years, first degree and team role(all P<0.05),while there were statistically significant differences in the working time pressure scores of obstetrics and gynecology nurses with different marital status, position, working years, first degree and team role(all P<0.05). The work addiction score of obstetrics and gynaecology nurses was positively correlated with team role(r=0.108,P<0.05),and the working time stress score was positively correlated with job and role(r=0.123,0.110,both P<0.01). There were significant positive correlations between work time stress and work addiction(both P<0.01),the work addiction explained 41% of the variation in working time stress, and vice versa. Conclusions The work addiction and working time pressure among nurses in department of obstetrics and gynecology in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Guangdong Province are at a average level.
