Methods From August to October 2023,nurses in operating rooms of six grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shaanxi Province were selected by the convenience sampling method. The general data questionnaire,Chinese big five personality questionnaire-short form(CBF-PI-B) and work addiction scale were used to conduct field questionnaire survey, and the data were analyzed. Results The score of work addiction of 435 nurses in operating rooms of six grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shaanxi Province was (57.34±9.36)points. Among personality traits, the score of rigorism was the highest[(33.82 ±5.80)points],and that of neuroticism was the lowest[(28.78±6.54) points]. The neuroticism was positively correlated with work addiction(r=0.410,P<0.01),while agreeableness, rigorism, openness and extroversion were negatively correlated with work addiction(r=-0.139,-0.308,-0.430,-0.178,all P<0.01). After controlling demographic variables, the variation of neuroticism, agreeableness and openness in personality traits to the total score of work addiction increased by 25.6%.
