Abstract: Objective To investigate the current situation of specialized alliance nurses' ability to respond to public health emergencies of respiratory infectious diseases in Xinjiang, provide reference for improving the public health emergency system. Methods From October to December 2022,the nurses in respiratory department, infectious department and critical care department were selected from medical institutions at all levels within a specialized alliance in Xinjiang, and a questionnaire survey was conducted using the emergency capability scale, work engagement scale, and occupational values scale. Results The total score of emergency capability scale among 605 nurses in medical institutions at all levels within a specialized alliance in Xinjiang was (215.80±27.78)points,the score of nurses' professional values scale was (117.78±16.07)points,the score of job involvement scale was(31.72±11.22)points. The emergency response ability was positively correlated with job involvement and occupational values(r=0.375,0.700,both P<0.01). The results of univariate and multivariate analysis showed that the nurses in age of 20~<30 years old,N1 energy level, participated in other emergency rescue, such as earthquake, fire, emergency treatment experience had the highest score of emergency ability. Conclusions The ability to respond to public health emergencies of respiratory infectious diseases among 605 nurses within a specialized alliance in Xinjiang is at a high level, and their professional values and job involvement positively predict their emergency response ability. The nursing administrators need to pay more attention to nurses' professional values and understand nurses' work engagement status,so as to improve nurses' emergency response ability in a specialty alliance in Xinjiang.
