Abstract:

Objective To explore the mediating role of psychological resilience in the relationship between workplace rudeness and job burnout among obstetric and gynecological nurses,in order to provide a reference for reducing their job burnout. Methods From October 2024 to January 2025,192 obstetric and gynecological nurses from 12 grade-A tertiary general hospitals in Hubei Province were selected as the survey subjects using the random number table method. The workplace rudeness scale, psychological resilience scale and job burnout scale were used for investigation. The correlation between psychological resilience, workplace rudeness and job burnout was analyzed using Pearson correlation. The stepwise regression method was used to analyze the mediating role of psychological resilience in the relationship between workplace rudeness and job burnout. Results The scores of workplace rudeness, psychological resilience and job burnout of obstetric and gynecological nurses were (28.36±7.42),(93.79±17.37) and(62.56±12.48)points,respectively. The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of job burnout and workplace rudeness among obstetric and gynecological nurses at different age, professional technical title, years of nursing experience, average monthly income, average weekly working hours(all P<0.05),and there were statistically significant differences in the scores of psychological resilience among obstetric and gynecological nurses at different age, professional technical title, years of nursing experience, average monthly income(all P<0.05). The occupational burnout of obstetric and gynecological nurses was positively correlated with workplace rudeness(r=0.617,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with psychological resilience(r=-0.528,P<0.01). The workplace rudeness was negatively correlated with psychological resilience(r=-0.584,P<0.01). The psychological resilience of obstetric and gynecological nurses played a partial mediating role between workplace rudeness and occupational burnout(the effect value was 0.260,accounting for 44.52% of the total effect). Conclusion The psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between workplace rudeness and occupational burnout of obstetric and gynecological nurses, and reducing workplace rudeness and improving psychological resilience of obstetric and gynecological nurses can reduce their level of occupational burnout.
