Advances of peer support in young cancer patients

Abstract: The peer support refers to a form of social support in which people with the same experience and similar age,personality,life background and disease experience get together to share emotions,information,coping skills,which has been widely used in the health management of patients with chronic diseases and has achieved good intervention results. At present,the research on the youth cancer population in China is not mature,so this paper reviews the overview of peer support,the mechanism of effect and its research progress in young cancer patients,including the application form of peer support,the intervention effect and the existing implementation challenges,and provides suggestions for promoting the development of peer support projects in China's youth cancer group,in order to provide theoretical basis and practical direction for young cancer patients to develop reasonable peer support programs.
