Objective To explore the effect of Tai Chi Chuan exercise on immune function in the patients with coal workers' pneumoconiosis(CWP). Methods Totally 35 CWP inpatients in Kailuan Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Hospital were selected from February 1-28 in 2019, they voluntarily taken the Tai Chi Chuan exercise seven times every week, one hour every time for three months. At one day before exercise and the second day after three months of exercise, the percentages of lymphocytes subsets CD3 +, CD3 +CD4 +, CD3 +CD8 +, CD19 +, CD16 ++56 +, the percentages of regulatory CD4 +CD25 + T cells and CD19 +CD25 + B cells were determined by a flow cytometer in the peripheral blood collected from CWP patients. The levels of serum immunoglobulin G(IgG), IgM, IgA and CH50, C3, C4 complements were measured using immune-turbidimetric assay. Results After exercise, the levels of peripheral blood CD16 ++56 + cells significantly increased as compared with before exercise, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of CD3 +, CD3 +CD4 +,CD3 +CD8 +, and CD19 + cells ( P>0.05). However, the levels of CD4 +CD25 + T cells and CD19 +CD25 + B cells and the ratios of CD4 +CD25 +/CD4 + and CD19 +CD25 +/CD19 + after exercise significantly decreased as compared with before exercise, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05). The level of serum CH50 after exercise was significantly higher than that before exercise ( P<0.05), and the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of serum IgG, IgA, IgM, C3 and C4 (all P>0.05). Conclusion Tai Chi Chuan exercise might affect the proportions distribution of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets and the levels of complement component expression, and then affect the immune function of CWP patients.

    Abstract1911)      PDF (1089KB)(1472)       Save
Objective To evaluate the status quo of occupational hazards in a metal surface treatment enterprise by using occupational health risk assessment model issued by the International Council on Mining and Metals(ICMM), provide basis for the risk management and control of occupational hazards in metal surface treatment industry. Methods From August 2019 to June 2020, the qualitative and quantitative assessment methods of ICMM model were used to evaluate the occupational health risk in the workplace of a metal surface enterprise. The accuracy of the occupational health risk assessment results were verified by referring to the occupational health examination results of the enterprise. Results The results of silica dust, sodium hydroxide, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, toluene and xylene in a metal surface treatment enterprise by quantitative occupational health risk assessment were unacceptable, which the RR values were 8 000, 900, 900, 900, 900, 6 000 and 6 000, respectively. And the RR value of nitrogen dioxide was 18, and the assessment result was potential risk. By the qualitative assessment method, the assessment results of silica dust, toluene and xylene were high risk, while the results of sodium hydroxide, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitrogen dioxide were low risk. The comparison of occupational health examination results and risk assessment results showed that the quantitative assessment results of sandblasting, chemical polishing and anodic oxidation positions were consistent with the results of occupational health examination, the result of qualitative assessment of sandblasting position was consistent with results of occupational health examination, and the results of quantitative and qualitative assessment of neutral positions were inconsistent with the results of occupational health examinations. Conclusion ICMM model can be applied to the occupational health risk assessment of occupational hazardous factors in the workplace of the metal surface treatment industry, and the assessment result of quantitative method is more in line with the actual situation of occupational hazards in the industry than that of qualitative method.

    OCCUPATION AND HEALTH    2021, 37 (1): 29-32.   DOI: 10.13329/j.cnki.zyyjk.20201028.002
    Abstract1315)      PDF (2063KB)(732)       Save
Objective To explore the influence of exposure to mercuric chloride by drinking water on percentage of T cells and B cells in spleen of mice. Methods Seven-week-old female BALB/c mice were randomly divided into control group and three mercuric chloride-treated groups at different time to body weight, 10 in each group. The control group drank double distilled water, and mercuric chloride-treated groups drank mercuric chloride solution of 15 mg/L. At 1, 2 and 3 weeks after exposure, the cytometry was used to measure the number of splenocytes, the percentages of T cells, B cells and T cell subpopulations in the spleen, and the percentage ofregulatory Tcells(Treg) among CD4 +T cells. Results Mercury chloride significantly increased the spleen weight at the first week of exposure, and significantly increased the kidney weight at the third week of exposure. The number of splenocytes was not affected by mercuric chloride. The percentages of T cells[(27.98±3.06)%], CD4 + T cells[(19.58±2.06)%] and CD8 + T cells[(9.62±1.10)%] in the spleen decreased significantly since the first week of exposure(all P<0.05), and the changes were most obvious at the second weeks, on the time-dependent manner. Meanwhile, the effect of mercuric chloride on the percentage of B cells was opposite to T cells. At the first week of exposure, mercury chloride significantly increased the percentage of Treg [(14.25±1.41)%] among CD4 + cells. C o nclusion Exposure to mercuric chloride via drinking water alters the percentages of T cells, B cells and T cell subpopulations in the spleen of mice, and increases the percentage of Treg among CD4 + cells.
