Investigation on abnormal dose monitoring of some radiation workers in Chongqing

Abstract: Objective To analyze the abnormal results of individual dose monitoring of interventional radiation workers in Chongqing,investigated typical casescombined with the results of ocular lens monitoring and biological dose detection,,and put forward rectification suggestions for radiation protection. Methods The interventional radiation workers who counted the abnormal results of individual dose and ocular lens dose in the fourth monitoring cycle in Chongqing in 2021 were investigated by biological dose detection and questionnaire,and the data were analyzed. Results In 2021,a total of 49 people with a dose >1.25 mSv in the fourth monitoring cycle in Chongqing,including 18 in interventional radiology,and nine were abnormal due to the increase of workload during wearing.In the same period,there were 130 person-times of ocular lens dose monitoring of interventional personnel,including four person-times of estimated annual dose exceeding 20 mSv and personal dose exceeding 1.25 mSv. The chromosomal aberration analysis were carried out for those with abnormal ocular lens dose and individual dose,two people had dicentric(1),one had triadial(1),and one was normal. Conclusion The abnormal results of individual dose monitoring of interventional radiation workers in Chongqing cannot to be ignored,and it is necessary to strengthen the occupational health monitoring of radiation workers,improve the investigation of abnormal personal dose monitoring,popularize dose monitoring in key parts,and improve the occupational health examination items of radiation workers,and improve the occupational protection.
