Investigation on radiation source distribution and health emergency resources in Daxing District of Beijing

Abstract: Objective To master the existing radiation risk factors and the distribution of health emergency resources in Daxing District of Beijing,provide the basis of health emergency treatment and formulation of prevention and control strategy of radiation accidents. Methods The existing radiation source application units in Daxing District of Beijing were used as the objects of investigation. The current situation of types,places,personnel and radiation protection resources in Daxing District of Beijing was obtained by means of investigation,and the evaluation was carried out according to relevant laws and regulations and technical standards. Results By the end of December 2021,97 radiological work units had radiation risk factors in Daxing District of Beijing,including 269 medical radiation devices and 1 Level-B unsealed source site,and 73 non-medical ray devices with 3 sealed sources. At present,there are 827 radiation workers in the district,and the completion rate of individual dose monitoring and occupational health examination for radiation work were both 100.00%. 99.64% of radiation workers have received training on radiation protection knowledge and laws and regulations,and the certification rate of medical radiation workers was 99.57%. Daxing District of Beijing has established a public health emergency organization system for health emergencies involving emergency response of radiation accident,and is equipped with 85 emergency radiation monitoring devices. Conclusion There are a large number of radiation sources distributed in Daxing District widely,and the points involved in radiation risk factors are complicated and difficult to supervise,therefore,it is necessary to further promote the construction of local radiation accident emergency system.
