Abstract: Objective To explore the possible biological mechanisms of combined exposure of flame retardants and pesticides to thyroid cancer at the genetic level. Methods Thyroid cancer related genes with clear evidence of flame retardants and pesticides were obtained from the comparative toxicogenomics database(CTD). Gene enrichment analysis was performed on the common genes of flame retardants and pesticides to obtain the biological processes or signaling pathways that the common genes/proteins may be involved in. Results The results showed that 61 key genes were involved in the process of hormone metabolism, response to toxic substances, response to inorganic substances, cell response to lipids, cell response to hormone stimulation, and other GO biological processes and AMPK signaling pathways. Conclusion Flame retardants and pesticides mainly affect thyroid hormone levels through the combined action of liver microsomal enzyme P450 related genes, causing endocrine disorders and thyroid function changes, leading to the occurrence of thyroid cancer.
