Multiple intermediation of occupational happiness and job embeddedness in spiritual salary satisfaction and professional mission in orthopedic nurses from 16 general hospitals in Sichuan Province

Abstract: Objective To explore the impact of spiritual salary satisfaction on professional mission in orthopedic nurses from 16 general hospitals in Sichuan Province,and the mediating role of occupational happiness and job embedding between them,provide reference for improving nurses' occupational mission. Methods Using the convenient sampling method,397 orthopedic nurses from 16 general hospitals in Sichuan Province were surveyed by general information questionnaire,spiritual salary satisfaction scale,occupational happiness scale,job embedding scale and occupational sense of mission scale from November to December 2021,and the data were analyzed. Results The score of spiritual salary satisfaction,occupational happiness,job embedding and occupational mission of 397 orthopedic nurses from general hospitals was (27.43±5.62),(76.12±24.44),(20.34±4.78) and (33.80±6.44)points,respectively. The occupational mission,spiritual salary satisfaction,occupational happiness and job embedding scores of orthopedic nurses in general hospitals were positively correlated(all P<0.05). The occupational happiness of orthopedic nurses played a partial mediating role in the relationship between spiritual salary satisfaction and occupational mission,and the mediating effect was 0.272,accounting for 32.20% of the total effect. The job embedding played a partial mediating role in the relationship between spiritual salary satisfaction and occupational mission,and the mediating effect was 0.175,accounting for 20.70% of the total effect. The occupational happiness and job embedment played a chain mediating role between spiritual salary satisfaction and occupational mission,and the mediating effect was 0.042,accounting for 5.00% of the total effect. Conclusion The professional mission of orthopedic nurses from 16 general hospitals in Sichuan Province is at a medium level,and the spiritual salary satisfaction can indirectly affect the professional mission of orthopedic nurses through the mediating effect of occupational happiness and job embedding and the chain mediating effect,respectively.
